Burying Emotional Pain
Do you bury your pain or process your pain?
Anger, fear, sadness, hate–these painful emotions, if unchecked, metastasize into physical pain.
Backaches, stomach aches, headaches, joint aches–all the aches start with an achy emotion you haven’t healed.
So, instead of burying or ignoring your pain, feel it in your body with all its intensity. After about ninety seconds, it will dissipate. Then, find a healthy activity or exercise that helps burn away the remnants: journaling, running, walking, even beating your pillow, or screaming in your closet.
