Enter, Winter

Winter enters, stage left, swift and decisive, peeping through windows, smiling at children clasping mugs of hot chocolate around kitchen tables; it delights in creating merriment and cheer despite hecklers seated in the balcony cursing its arctic flair. Winter doesn’t care. As far as it’s concerned, it brings to purpose to fire, context to Christmas, and business to Santa.

The audience applauds. Bursts of cheer thunder through the theater, beseeching an encore for which, much to their dismay, they must wait one year. Blowing snowflake kisses, winter bows, then exits stage right.
