My 5 Takeaways from Sheila Logan
Bloggers are entrepreneurs. We sell our stories and passions. Some of us may not be making money yet. But the idea percolates as we casually consider how to turn on blogs into cash.
Building a business is a process, not an overnight success. Your mindset and habits will make or break your desired outcome. Entrepreneur Sheila Logan founded Yes! Women’s Network to help women through the process. She shares her journey to entrepreneurship and tips on how we can navigate our journeys. Here are my five big takeaways from our conversation.
- Think from the end. When starting your business, consider when and how you want it to end. Do you want to sell it? Pass it on to your children? Pondering these questions allows you to think like a CEO and make wise choices.
- Don’t let the How stop you from doing the What and achieving the Why. We get caught up in the How: How will I get started? How will I get the money I need? How will I find the resources? But if you keep asking how, you will never take action (do the What) and achieve your mission ( the Why). Remember, clarity follows action. Just do it.
- Study other entrepreneurs and businesses. Read memoirs, biographies, and articles. Talk and network with people in a variety of industries, and learn from them.
- If it tires you out, hire it out. Outsource tasks you can’t do or don’t have the time to do. If you don’t have money to hire help, try bartering.
- Turn your hobbies into cash. The things we enjoy doing in our spare are probably solutions to people’s pain points. For example, if you love watching films on Netflix, consider starting a Netflix movie review site for people who feel overwhelmed when choosing a film.
